KOHIRA DAM, popular as Jagadahawan Dam over river Kohira and situated across hills amidst beautiful natural sceneries is a best location for adventure loving people. Natural sceneries, wildlife, chattering of colourful birds, music created by water falling from the spillway, endless expansion of water in reservoir touching the horizon, infinite rays of rising and setting Sun, here nature has weaved a magic.

The 262.87 meters long and 18.4 meter high dam with a reservoir having 87.80 square kilometer catchment area and 22960 acre feet water storage capacity is situated at a distance of 22KM south west to district headquarters town Bhabua.

Here stands aside the dam a fine guest house, the fittest point for the bird’s-eye-view of Nature’s package. A cook available here round the clock, prepares all type of food on demand. The place is one of the most favoured picnic destinations from the day of its commissioning in the year 1962.

At a distance of 37km from nearest railway station Bhabua Road on Gaya-Mughalsarai- Varanasi route and at the same distance from National Highway No.2 (GT Road), the place is connected with fine black topped roads. Private taxies are available for the dam from Bhabua, Bhagwanpur and Chainpur.
